Dressed to impress at the ‘Snow Ball’

Dressed to impress and ready to party, Years 7, 8 and 9 enjoyed their first-ever Snow Ball at the end of last term.

With the help of some hardworking helpers, the Barn was transformed into a magical winter wonderland, complete with foliage, fairy lights, visiting woodland fauna and plenty of falling snow.

The evening’s entertainment came in the form ‘DJ Dom’, who was on hand to keep the girls moving on the dance floor. Mrs Collins and Mrs Crump ran the highly popular ‘Mocktail’ bar and everyone enjoyed a selection of savory and sweet canapés. Father Christmas even stopped by to drop off some early presents.

Unsurprisingly the Narnia-themed photo area proved a huge draw for all the girls, even those who claimed they were far too shy to step in front of the camera!

A huge thank you to the PA for making the evening possible, and to all PA members who spent countless hours making snowflakes and helping transform the Barn on the day. Thanks also to the staff (and Father Christmas) who helped make the evening such a resounding success.

Upper Prep Christmas party

Our Upper Prep pupils also enjoyed a Christmas party last Wednesday.

Noise levels were even higher than normal in the Barn that afternoon, with plenty of running around, games and crazy dancing from all involved. Father Christmas once again stopped by to say hello and was spotted helping himself to a plate or two of Mr Reeve’s mince pies on the way out.

Lots more photos from the party can be seen here.

Lower Prep Christmas party

Last Wednesday our Lower Prep pupils enjoyed their annual Christmas party.

It was a fun-packed afternoon involving plenty of fun, games, yummy food and leaping around. Father Christmas even stopped by to drop off some presents and party bags. Rumour has it all the reindeer were parked up outside, but this is something Mr Bray can neither confirm or deny…

Lots more photos from the party can be seen here.

Calling all talented artists at HOHS

The school will be entering the Royal Norfolk Show 2013 art competition this year, and Ms Coughlan would like to encourage pupils to submit their works.

The theme for the competition is “Norfolk Farming in Style”.farming

The competition is intended to give children the opportunity to study the work of a professional artist, and then produce a piece of art on any aspect of British produced food, farming or the countryside in the style of their chosen artist. Alternatively, children may use their own style without reference to the existing work of any professional artist.

Entries should be no larger than A3 size. Pictures may be in any medium, i.e. watercolour, oils, pastels, poster paints, powder colours, acrylics, crayons, pen and ink or pencil.

The winning entries will be on display in the Schools Marquee at the Royal Norfolk Show on 26th and 27th June 2013. Prize giving will take place in the marquee on Thursday 27th June.

Please forward your entries to Ms Coughlan by the deadline of the end of March.

Sixth Form Panto!

As tradition dictates on the last day of term, our Sixth Form girls and staff put on a pantomime in the Barn.

“Oh, no they didn’t!”

“Oh, yes they did!”

As always, the girls performed brilliantly and thoroughly entertained the rest of our pupils.

Merry Christmas! aQepOwWh80fiyPJ3IwC-ZsYLoRykk71CqHEPqcBi61w,UT89JSZF24kd1Jt8ItTHwLCVLvkXxt67uw7B_JyHDlMELoGOFoWIjLSHWK1jLWwWi4HEmFmEvbbUpmCJJB17_s q5UJB4vUxGomAFZUgPsTvFp8IRqtY3uYfd28qgzr3So zYup0OSvoh_Sg8SBYZgjsUxBP0Jalo4tXOhMhGK9hdw,U63orfoiDUTiFrO3A36N2iAb1Cz6ZyJohfsaqQOnppI UNnQGd02Ct0-xqyymifrZWcV2BC3u-rFU1_D0kKAiOI,okur4bTUnrP0HZTOU3VpcxZCQf71bVlg9C9WgdQZg2A Panto-2012Panto2-2012hyT8JG4LLs-Zzr9GhKM3RjHHBuLh646mOPhu3sIH8ng,Go7S8FwscbIedOXAauLcAPQ-3yKZM6dvw-YU6nCI_pg
