Bronze Duke of Edinburgh practice

The second week of term saw the Duke of Edinburgh staff out again, this time heading off into the wilds of Mid Norfolk with the 3 Bronze groups.

Everyone turned up early at school on Saturday morning, dressed for the occasion and raring to go. They were driven to their start points where they set off in light rain. The weather soon cleared up and the girls enjoyed a very good day of navigation; no-one got lost, which was quite an achievement!

After arriving at the campsite the girls put up tents and cooked their evening meals on the trangias. Some groups seemed to have brought a small shops worth of food and were eating for ages. There was certainly no risk of them being short of energy the next day! They all went to bed early in preparation for their 6am start.

The following day started bright and sunny but unfortunately didn’t stay that way for very long. Luckily everyone made it back to the safety of the minibus before the deluge.

Well done to everyone who took part. Just 2 weeks to go until the final!
