The HOHS team played in a very entertaining match vs Little Melton on Thursday 27th February. The game started very quickly and whilst HOHS tried to pass the ball between each other, they were caught out and quickly went two goals behind. This did not discourage them as they continued to press up the field. Jack Foulger Wills was a great outlet out wide and was a constant option for Harriet Catlin, Thomas Lofty Cork and James Bell to pass to.
Little Melton were then awarded a penalty which they executed well. Almost immediately, Warwick Davey cleverly took a quick throw, allowing Jack to turn and score. The HOHS team celebrated emphatically!
With only a few minutes remaining, Little Melton scored two quick goals meaning HOHS went down 5-1 at half time.
After plenty of sliced oranges at half time the team then started to play really well. Henry Greenfield decided to go in goal and denied the Little Melton striker on many occasions. Edoardo Moretti Miles was brilliant in defence and made tackle after tackle. He intercepted a pass and laid the ball off to Harriet who, from the half way line, scored a tremendous goal. She should be very proud as she was the only girl on the pitch at the time!
Ethan Long was a constant threat in the closing stages of the match setting up Jack for many shots at goal. He was very effective down the right-wing and played in Jack again to score his second of the game.
The final score ended in a win for Little Melton (5-3) but HOHS should be very proud of themselves, especially in the second half as they did not concede a single goal.
Well done boys and girls!
