Last Thursday, Years 5 and 6 travelled to the Cambridge Botanical Gardens as part of their biomes and tropical rainforest topics in geography. We went into glasshouses, where we saw plants from different climates around the world: cold, tropical, humid, hot and dry. The children were then able to look at and draw some carnivorous plants – the monkey cup and Venus fly-trap were particularly popular! Miss Hopwood and Mr Peace then led the children on a nature hunt around the beautiful 16 acre gardens. It was a very enjoyable day!
