On Thursday, Year 11 took part in the United Kingdom Intermediate Mathematics Challenge, organised by the UKMT and supported by the actuarial profession. The challenge consists of 25 questions to be answered in one hour, with no calculators or rulers allowed, just a piece of plain paper for rough work. The exam papers have been sent off to Leeds University where they will be marked alongside those from schools up and down the country. Well done, Year 11 – we look forward to seeing how many Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates you can achieve (they are awarded to the top 40% of students nationally). Watch this space!
