Enjoy the Easter holidays!

We hope that all our pupils, parents and staff have a wonderful Easter holiday. May the weather stay warm and the Easter Bunny be kind!

We look forward to seeing you all back again when the summer term starts on Monday 24th April. Meanwhile, watch the blog for lots of pictures from the fun end-of-term activities we’ve been enjoying, including today’s Easter bonnet parade and prize-winning. And to kick off, here are the winners in the Prep department’s egg-rolling competition. In first place  is Grace, second Reno (sporting his fabulous Easter bonnet competition entry!)  and third Maxim. All three won several heats in their year groups to get to the grand final in The Barn this afternoon and were awarded Easter eggs by Mr Crump.

Years 10 and 11 house netball result

On a beautiful sunny afternoon Ryder were crowned champions of the Years 10 and 11 netball house matches. With all three teams winning one and losing one game it came down to goal difference, with Ryder just edging ahead. Fry and Austen were awarded joint second with a +1 goal difference.

Player of the tournament was awarded to Amy for a fantastic performance at GA. Amy has made significant progress since the start of the term and can be very proud of her shooting efforts for Fry. At the end of this term’s netball and football house matches the house points are as follow

1st AUSTEN 360 points

Joint 2nd FRY & RYDER 330 points

As we look forward to the summer term there is everything still to play for!

Upper Prep music festival

Thank you to all the parents and friends who came to see our Upper Prep pupils perform a selection of musical items in The Barn this afternoon. Some of the children have been learning their instruments for a year or more, while others are just beginners, but the festival gives all those who wish to perform the opportunity to show what they have been practising in their music lessons. The audience enjoyed a varied programme of solo and ensemble pieces before joining the children for refreshments.

Well done, everyone! The picture is from a recent Assembly.

Upper Prep music festival tomorrow

Tomorrow afternoon Upper Prep pupils will be performing a selection of musical items in The Barn. We hope as many parents and friends as possible will come and share the performance and refreshments afterwards. The festival provides a great opportunity for all the children who wish to perform to show what they have been practising in their music lessons; some have been learning for a while and others have only recently started, so the programme will be varied and entertaining.

All proceeds from the sale will go to the girls’ chosen charity Hope into Action, which provides homes for the most vulnerable in society in partnership with local churches. We hope as many pupils and staff as possible will come along and buy some cakes from us tomorrow and help raise lots of money for this very worthwhile cause!
