Summer Fete next week!

After months of planning and preparation, our Summer Fete is almost upon us – it’s next Saturday, 6th May.

Many thanks to all the parents who have so far made generous donations of raffle prizes, jam jars, plants, books, tombola prizes and pledges to bake for our
famous cake tent! Items still to come, and raffle ticket stubs or unsold tickets, can be left in the school reception any day next week.

Most importantly, though, do come along and have a brilliant time – and tell your friends and neighbours, too!

Giving Monet a run for his money

Year 1 pupils are studying the life and work of French impressionist Claude Monet.  Inspired by Nymphéas, the famous waterlilies picture painted in the artist’s stunning water garden in Giverny, the children are painting their own impressionistic pictures.  These are works in progress but we think they are already looking like masterpieces!

Sophie in Regional U14 Hockey Tournament

Last Sunday, Sophie B (Year 9, pictured in red kit in the action shot below) represented Norfolk at the East Region U14 Girls Junior Academy Hockey Tournament held at Rushmere, Ipswich; her second year representing Norfolk.

The team, made up of club members from around the county, have been training together since the end of last year. They won four of their five matches against Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire but a loss against Suffolk meant that Norfolk finished as runners-up. Sophie and her team mates played some exceptional hockey throughout the tournament and proudly received their runner-up medals at the end of the day. Sophie trains and plays for Norwich Dragons Hockey Club.
