Year 6 Camp Out

Year 6  are just getting ready for their exciting ‘camp out’  to celebrate their last week in the Prep Department.

After putting up and trying out their tents (like Skyla and Ruby pictured here!) they will be enjoying a delicious BBQ (thank you Mr Reeves), taking part in some games and toasting a lot of marshmallows around the camp fire with Mr Peace. We’ll be taking lots more pictures and creating new memories later this evening, of course, so watch this space…

HOHS at the Royal Norfolk Show!

Despite heavy rain causing a bit of a mishap with our marquee the day before, we had a great two days at the Royal Norfolk Show this week and it was a delight to see so many current and past pupils and some former staff members, as well as chat to families interested in our school.

We were so proud of our pupils who won art and writing prizes at the Show and would like to thank Mr Crump and some of the parents who attended the presentations for these pictures, as well as the ones of the children enjoying themselves at the Show.

  • Did YOU capture any special moments at the show? Email them to marketing@hohs.co.uk and we will post the best on the blog and Facebook.

Charlotte, Daisy and Chloe on the Pensthorpe stand – thanks Mrs Tricker for this one!

Our ‘stars’ of the week

Our ‘Stars’ of the week, receiving special mention from Mr Peace and their teachers in our Prep Department Praise Assembly yesterday, are:

Albert (Year 3) for the very good presentation of his handwriting with controlled, correct orientation.

Grace (Year 4) for very careful work and concentration on a portrait.

Toby (Year 5) for his free-hand work on a Victorian factory project. Toby was also praised by both Miss Hopwood and Mr Peace for his good back stage behaviour and excellent contributions to school life.

Camilla (Year 6)  for producing some excellent work and contributing so well in her first week at school.

Well done to all of our ‘stars’! The photos are from another recent assembly. Look out for pictures and news on the blog soon from our end of year Early Years concert and praises today!

Year 10 Visit Sainsbury Centre

Year 10 girls had a fascinating visit to the Sainsbury Centre  earlier this month.   With the help of a guide, they explored first the Paul Nash, and then the Rana Begum visiting exhibitions on display there. Begum’s work (pictured) blurs the boundaries between sculpture, painting and architecture and we found it very interesting indeed!

The fluorescent coats  the girls are wearing were designed to be interactive with the colours in the exhibition.
