This afternoon’s performance was a magical treat for all the families who came to see our Nursery, Reception and Years 1 and 2 pupils showcase their talents in their Christmas production. First we had a delightful musical take on the traditional nativity from our Nursery and Reception children. A King is Born saw a word-perfect narrator, Samaara, ‘reading’ the story of the first Christmas to her eager, pyjama-clad children. Truly angelic angels, regal kings and vigilant shepherds meanwhile acted out the drama, with a convincing Mary and Joseph centre stage.
in the second half, we enjoyed a charming musical, Children of the World beautifully performed by Years 1 and 2. The children told us in words, songs and action about a wide variety of different Christmas traditions from around the world, with a group of highly individual angels accompanying us around the globe – from Africa to China and from Poland to the US, Australia and Ireland. With superb props, lighting effects and costumes and with everyone speaking their lines clearly and confidently, this was a production to be proud of. We hope that all the parents and grandparents who filled The Barn to the rafters this afternoon did indeed leave with a warm glow of pride in their children’s achievements. Thank you all for coming and for your support.
