Our carol service…

St Remigius parish church was filled with family and friends of HOHS last week for our carol service, led by Reverend Derek McClean. Head Girl Kami and Deputy Head Girl Charlie led the procession to the choir stalls, with Sofia’s beautiful voice soaring solo for the first verse of  Once in Royal David’s City. The traditional service of readings, carols and musical offerings also included The Kings sung by the Upper Prep Choir,  Silent Night beautifully played by Anna (Year 8) on the harp and In the Bleak Midwinter sung by the senior choir accompanied by Emilia (Year 9) on the flute.  The popular Ukranian Carol of the Bells was beautifully performed by the flute ensemble of Mollie and Alice (Year 11), Isabel and Alia (Year 10) and Emilia (Year 9) and all the girls who did readings and led prayers spoke clearly and with great expression, while Be Thou my Vision, sung by Charlie, Sofia (Year 11) and Ruby (Year 7) brought tears to many eyes.
