As well as running mindfulness sessions with Years 3 and 4, as reported last week, this afternoon Sister Ann Greig worked with our Year 5 pupils in the first of what could become regular sessions. The children began by exploring what mindfulness means and the importance of being aware of your feelings. They then cut out some leaf shapes and labelled them, naming some of the good things in their lives, to encourage positive thinking. The leaves will be used to create a gratitude tree. Watch this space!
- Sister Greig’s mindfulness sessions will include guided relaxations and breathing techniques to help promote happiness and reduce stress.
- She plans also to start a drop- in lunchtime mindfulness club.
