Boarders’ cycling adventures

This weekend the boarders went cycling in Thetford Forest. Luckily the rain stopped but there were plenty of puddles and we all got a bit muddy. Some of us were really fast and some of us (me!) were very rusty… but we all finished the course and had great fun.

HOHS summer term athletics

Great video showcasing the start of our athletics season and our glorious sports field with its freshly-painted 400 metre track. Don’t forget to put our Sports Day in your diary – the date is at the end of the video!

Year 1 preparing for class assembly

We couldn’t resist sharing this picture: a cheeky,  sneaky preview of Year 1’s class assembly next Tuesday. It shows Oliver getting into role as Peter Krøyer, a 19th Century Danish impressionist who lived in Skagen, Jutland, Denmark. All parents are welcome to join us on Tuesday morning in The Barn from 8.50am to see the children in action – and find out more about this fascinating artist!

Practise for The Big Sing!

Getting excited about next Thursday’s Big Sing – now at the Norfolk Showground rather than at Carrow Road as originally announced. All our Years 1-6 pupils will be taking part and we hope you’ve all been practising at home as well as with Mrs Greene! We will be leaving school at 9.45am and travelling by coach to the venue. Children should wear their school uniform, please. We will return to school at approximately 1.15pm; packed lunches will be provided for the children. They may bring a small snack with them if they wish. parents – if you purchased spectator tickets they will still be valid for
the Showground. We’ve been advised that tickets are now sold out.

Fairies and Elves in Reception!

There are hundreds of opportunities for creative and imaginative play at HOHS. This week we spotted some of our Reception children enjoying a recently-acquired fairy and elf house, complete with miniature furniture and little characters. Perfect for all kinds of role-play adventures! The children were also keen to show off the beans they have started to grow. They have planted them in jam jars so that they can keep an eye on how well they grow. We will have another look, too, later in the term…
