Hethersett Old Hall School, established in 1938, is an independent co-educational day school for pupils aged 4-11, a girls only day school for pupils aged 11-18 with full, weekly and flexi-boarding for girls aged 9-18. We welcome students from all over the world. In September 2012, the school will be opening a nursery class for pupils from age 3.
Our school is very close-knit with approximately 200 pupils in small class sizes of on average 10 pupils. We have four departments: Pre-Prep (girls and boys aged 4-7), Juniors (girls and boys aged 7-11), Seniors (girls aged 11-16) and a Sixth Form (girls aged 16-18).
We received an excellent Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) report in 2011. In December 2009, we received a glowing OFSTED report on our boarding provision. In September 2011, we were delighted to receive the ‘Best Day School 2011’ award at the Archant Good Schools Show.
Hethersett Old Hall School is a member of the Independent Schools Council (ISC), Girls’ Schools Association (GSA) and the Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA), and is a registered charitable trust (number 311273).
At Hethersett Old Hall School we seek to maximise the potential of each individual, developing talents and skills in a caring and successful Christian community.
To enable pupils to:
Achieve the highest standards of which they are capable.
Grow in self-confidence and self-belief.
Gain knowledge and understanding of their own and others’ cultures.
Develop strong moral and spiritual values that will equip them for their role as citizens in a rapidly-changing society.
Boarding and International Students
We have a dedicated ESOL department which offers ESOL study programmes to girls who want to improve their English and take GCSEs, AS Levels and A Levels and ESOL qualifications. Past and current boarders have come from China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Spain, Russia, Germany, Belgium and Nigeria.
We have several children from Forces’ families at the school too and are able to offer them a significant discount on boarding fees.
