We are proud to announce that, yet again, a number of our pupils have scooped awards in the prestigious Royal Norfolk Show schools art competition, which receives hundreds of entries from across the county.

Congratulations to Lucas (Year 2) for achieving first place in the Reception, Years 1 and 2 category, and to Felicity (Year 2) and Thalia (Year 1) for achieving Highly Commended. Imogen (Year 3) was Runner-Up in the Years 3 and 4 category, with Chloe (Year 3) Highly Commended.

The presentation will be on the Wednesday morning of the show  in the Schools Exhibition Marquee within the Discovery Zone.  Each of the five pupils will receive a free ticket from the show organisers for a parent to attend.

Mini garden competition winners!

Mrs Bird’s stall at our fete on Saturday was pretty as a picture adorned with the entries to the miniature garden competition. Visitors to the stall were invited to vote for their favourite and the overall winner was Amy (Year 1) – well done! Second prize went to Sophia and third to Hayden. There were also runners-up prizes of seed packets. Thank you to everyone who entered – the gardens were ALL wonderful!

Amy had an especially lucky day as she also won first prize in our raffle and took home a brand new bike!

Have you made a mini-garden for Saturday’s competition…?

We are looking forward to seeing the entries for Mrs Bird’s fabulous miniature garden competition, with prizes to be awarded on Saturday at the summer fete! If you haven’t already designed your garden, there is still time, so do have a go! Your garden can be any shape as long as its overall size is no larger than 30 x 30cm. There are Taverham Garden Centre vouchers for the gardens voted into first,  second and third places, and a mystery gardening gift for the overall winner as well!  Mrs Bird will have voting sheets on her stall on Saturday so make sure to vote for your favourite (but not your own!).

Please remember to put your name on your garden – and maybe give it an imaginative title, too.

Miniature garden competition

Fancy having a go at making a miniature garden? Now is the time to start planning your design for Mrs Bird’s fabulous competition – have a look at the poster for details. It’s a great way to exercise your imagination and creative flair! Your garden can be any shape as long as its overall size is no larger than 30 x 30cm. But don’t make the real thing yet unless you’re confident you can maintain it in peak condition until May 6th…because that is when judging will take place, at our Summer Fete. There will be prizes for different age groups and all the entries will be displayed at the fete. Go on, you know you want to!
