Practise for The Big Sing!

Getting excited about next Thursday’s Big Sing – now at the Norfolk Showground rather than at Carrow Road as originally announced. All our Years 1-6 pupils will be taking part and we hope you’ve all been practising at home as well as with Mrs Greene! We will be leaving school at 9.45am and travelling by coach to the venue. Children should wear their school uniform, please. We will return to school at approximately 1.15pm; packed lunches will be provided for the children. They may bring a small snack with them if they wish. parents – if you purchased spectator tickets they will still be valid for
the Showground. We’ve been advised that tickets are now sold out.

Wanted – holiday homes for Winnie and Bubbles!

A plea from our boarders: would any of our families like to step forward to offer a holiday home for their two guinea pigs over the half term break at the end of May or in the summer holidays? Winnie and Bubbles, our ‘piggies’,  are easy to look after, fun and quite cuddlesome! If you can help, please email boarding@hohs.co.uk as soon as possible.

Worms in the Nursery (the good kind!)

Our topic in the Nursery this term is Mini Beasts. Last week the children got hands-on with earthworms and built their own wormery. It was a lot of fun and they learned plenty of fascinating worm facts, too!

The Early Years visit Wroxham Barns

Last Thursday the Nursery and Reception children had a fantastic day out at Wroxham Barns.

We all had a wonderful day even though the day was quite chilly! The children learnt all about  the different animals on the farm and the different types of food they eat. They all enjoyed bottle feeding the spring lambs in the barn and seeing the hens, pigs, cows, donkeys, sheep, goats and chickens around the farm.  We also got to  sit on bales of straw in the barn and cuddle the chicks and guinea pigs.

Well done, everyone, for being so well behaved. Happy Easter from us all!

Mrs Jones

Practise for The Big Sing!

We hope everyone’s Easter holiday has started well, even though the weather today has not been as lovely as we might have hoped! But for pupils in Years 1-6, perhaps a rainy day could be a good time to practise the ten songs we are learning for  The Big Sing at Carrow Road on 3rd May?  You can access the backing tracks, lyrics and videos here – scroll down to resources and login with the password ‘singup’.

There is information about how you can get tickets for the event on the website, too.

Have fun!

The Big Sing!

We are very excited that all our children from Years 1-6 are taking part in  The Big Sing at Carrow Road on 3rd May – a fantastic opportunity to sing in Norwich City Football Stadium with lots of other schools. There will be 9,000 children singing and we are learning ten songs – it’s going to be amazing! Parents – please encourage your child to practise the songs over Easter. They have all been given a set of lyrics and you can also access the backing tracks, lyrics and videos here – scroll down to resources and login with the password ‘singup’.

The future starts here….

Pupils from Years 9 and 12 were at the Norfolk Showground today for the Norfolk Skills and Careers Festival 2018. The girls took  the opportunity to meet a variety of exhibitors from every sector of industry and commerce –  from the Armed Forces to the BBC and from VW Apprenticeships to Banking –  and take part in interactive activities to help plan for their future.
