U16 and U14 netball excellence v Thorpe St Andrew

Our U14 and U16 netball teams were both in action at home yesterday against Thorpe St Andrew.  Both teams played extremely well in very close games.  At half time, the U16s were losing 8-1,  but the girls really stepped up in the second half, effecting a brilliant come-back to pull off a 14-13 win! The U14 team worked hard for the whole game, playing some great netball and ending with a final score of 8-8.

Players of the match were picked by the opposition: congratulations to Alice P  for the U16s and Emily D for the U14s.  Well done to all the girls who played – there was some exceptional netball on display.

Sports Hall Balcony Transformation…

Look what’s happening on the balcony in the sports hall!  This area of the balcony is being transformed and will  soon be home to two new treadmills, two new sit-on exercise bikes and a new rowing machine. A huge thank you to the PA and the school for their continued support in various projects. Watch this space for further developments!

Tennis Report

The last week before half term saw all my Mini Tennis stars working very hard on developing their racket and ball skills and basic strokes. We will be completing our first mini tennis award after half-term and all the pupils will receive a certificate celebrating their achievements. I am absolutely delighted with the fantastic progress made by all our mini tennis players this term.

Players of the Week
Jack (Nursery) for his excellent forehands and tremendous improvement this term.
Reno (Year 1) for outstanding improvement with his racket and ball skills and groundstrokes.

Tennis coaching for Upper Prep and Senior pupilsl starts again after the half-term break. I look forward to seeing you all then!

The photo is from an earlier tennis coaching session.

U12 Netball ‘Festive’

On Wednesday the U12 netball team played in a ‘festive’ against Town Close School and Orwell Park. The girls played several games and were victorious in some and defeated in others. All the girls stayed focused and played well in the cold conditions. Player of the Match accolades were given to three girls: Ruby D, Laura and Skyla. Well done, girls!
