U14 badminton team are Norfolk Schools Champions!

Congratulations to the U14 badminton team who have won the Norfolk Schools badminton league for the second year running.

The team came first in their pool, beating Thorpe St Andrew, Notre Dame High School, Attleborough Academy, Hethersett Academy and Norwich High School. In the final this afternoon, we met Fakenham Academy and ran out 6-3 winners with all the girls playing some excellent badminton.

A big thank you to Anna and Rachel who stepped in at the last minute to replace injured Emily. The girls have been a pleasure to work with and should be immensely proud of their achievements, with many playing above their age group.

SQUAD: Isabelle (C), Sophie, Mia, Harriet, Rebekah, Emily, Rachel and Anna.

Check mates in the courtyard!

Year 6 were busy setting up a new outdoor chess game in the courtyard earlier this week. They filled the pieces with water to weight them before setting them out on the giant chess board. The game was bought for use by all pupils following suggestions made in the School Council and we anticipate it will get plenty of use on fine days! The chess game is a welcome addition to the other traditional games in this lovely old part of the school grounds.

Alex in regional Sportshall finals

Alex (Year 5) competed at the regional sportshall finals in Hatfield in the Norfolk U11 squad last weekend.  With fierce competition from the Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Hertfordshire teams, Alex’s team did really well and came second. On a personal level Alex beat his PB for standing long jump.   “It was such an amazing day, the atmosphere was electric,” said Alex’s mother.
