What is your role at HOHS?
I will be starting as the Year 4 class teacher in September 2014.

What attracted you to the role at HOHS?
The opportunity to teach to my strengths and have a real impact on those that I teach in a friendly and nurturing environment.

What is your favourite thing about being a teacher?
The fact you can make a difference and that you’re always learning yourself; you get to wear many hats as a teacher!

What are your interests and will you be incorporating these into your teaching?
The Arts. I will be taking Drawing Club after school on Wednesdays and will also be teaching Year 6 Art. I enjoy being outside and discovering new places, fortunately HOHS had wonderful grounds so we will be using these as well as venturing further afield on school trips.

What is your favourite memory of your own time at school?
There are too many: Making Christingles and being an Angel in the Nativity, playing Fagin in Oliver, School trips, Sports Fixtures and winning best fancy dressed in the Sixth Form Quiz.

What was your favourite subject at school and why?
English Literature – I love analysing and discussing texts.

What was your  least favourite subject and why?
Sewing – the teacher was very strict.

If you could go back in time and give your “younger” self a piece of advice, what would it be?
Always be true to yourself and don’t do things because that’s what others might choose.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that your pupils wouldn’t know.
I tracked down and held a wild Anaconda in deepest Bolivia!
