Miss Bedder

Spotlight-on-Miss-B

What is your role at HOHS?
I am the secretary/receptionist.  My role varies from dealing with enquiries from parents to putting a plaster on a poorly knee.

What is your favourite thing about HOHS?
How excited the children get for just about anything (holidays, the snow, a new pen!) and the hot dinners of course.

What is your favourite memory of your own time at school?
The last day of term when we could bring our games in (I took in monster crunch).

What was your favourite subject at school and why?
PE, I was good at most sports and enjoyed running about with my team mates.

What was your least favourite subject at school and why?
English, I could never remember where to put the apostrophes!

If you could go back in time and give your ‘younger’ self one piece of advice what would it be?
Don’t worry about everything and enjoy yourself while you are young.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that your pupils wouldn’t know.
I am a level 3 qualified swimming coach with Norwich Swan Swimming Club and spend most evenings and weekends coaching children age 6 to 18.  I used to be a competitive swimmer when I was young (reaching county level) and made the transition into coaching at age 14.  I currently coach 4 children at the school and they are all very good swimmers.
