Update: GCSE and A Level drama

Last week, our GCSE drama and A Level drama students visited Norwich’s Theatre Royal to see the National Theatre’s acclaimed production of ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’.

Written by Richard Bean and with songs by Grand Olding, this smash-hit comedy is currently touring the UK and Ireland and is based on ‘The Servant of Two Masters’ by Carlo Goldoni. It was an excellent evening’s entertainment and very good for the girls’ studies.OMTG_1024x576px_paceThe week before, the GCSE group undertook their assessed performance in the Barn here at HOHS. Devised by the girls themselves, the piece, entitled ‘War Letters’, was on the theme of women and war. Their performance was very well received by the appreciative audience of families attending.

Our AS Travel and Tourism students learn the ropes

On Wednesday 19th November the AS Travel and Tourism students visited Park Farm Hotel to collect data for their Customer Service portfolio.

It was really interesting to see how this company dealt with both internal and external customers. We were able to see the facilities on offer, including some amazing bedrooms.

Thanks to Michael Bannister, the Front Office Manager, for spending so much time with us.

A* success for our IGCSE English results

IGCSE_logoFollowing on from the success of our A Level results yesterday, we were delighted to learn that our IGCSE English results (released a week before GCSEs) were excellent, following the change to this exam last year.
Our girls have achieved 42% passes at A*/A, 74% A*-B and a 95% pass rate A*- C – only one girl getting a near-miss D.

Fingers crossed for even more good news next Thursday!
