Boarders get busy decking the halls…

With December just a few days away, Christmas activities are now officially starting at HOHS!

On Friday evening, our boarders – with a CD of carols playing loudly – got into festive spirit by decorating the huge tree in our main hall.

A big thank you to Norfolk Christmas Trees at Great Melton Estate for once again very kindly donating our trees. Local families looking for a tree for the family? These are top quality – have a look at the website here.

Boarders get busy decking the halls…

Christmas activities are now officially starting at HOHS!

At the weekend our boarders got into festive spirit by decorating the huge tree in our main hall. One of six kindly donated by  Great Melton Estates , it looks fabulously festive!

Elsewhere around the school, preparations are also in progress. As well as the lovely Christingle service tomorrow, our younger children have  been very busy painting and creating Christmas-themed arts and crafts – look out for some of these featuring in the blog in the coming week.

Of course, we are also working very hard on rehearsals for our nativity play next week!

Reception pupils get busy for Christmas!

This week the children in our Reception class have started to get very excited as we begin our preparations for Christmas.

Monday morning began with the opening of our Advent Calendar with a difference. Each day in December the chidren take it in turns to find a little book which tells the real story of Christmas. Once the book has been read it is hung on our Christmas tree.

As well as the lovely Christingle service on Wednesday, the children have also been very busy painting and creating collage Christmas cards and making shape pictures of trees, houses, people and racing cars using only squares, rectangles, circles and triangles, for their calendars.

Of course, we are also working very hard on rehearsals for our nativity play next week!
