Badminton and trampolining free taster sessions tomorrow!

trampoline kidFree taster sessions are on offer tomorrow (Monday 11th September) for our  Trampolining Club (with Miss Good) and  Badminton Coaching (with Mr Cooper).  The timings are as follows, and if your child would like to have a go, please tell Reception tomorrow.

Please note that although these tasters are free, pupils joining the courses after that will be charged the usual the club fees.

Taster session times:

Trampoline 4.00-5.00pm Years 3-6 and 5.00-6.00pm for seniors.

Badminton: 4.00-5.00pm for Years 3 upwards, all abilities.

Maxim in Norfolk Junior Chess Grand Prix

Last Sunday, Maxim in Year 5 was invited to play in a chess tournament as part of the Norfolk Junior Grand Prix 2016-17. He got a good score after playing six rounds of chess against some very skilled county and national players. Well done Maxim!

Chess Club gearing up for UK Challenge

Miss Hopwood’s popular Chess Club has signed up to the seven-round Delancey UK Schools’ Chess Challenge 2016 – a competition which last year saw 48,200 children from 1400 schools and clubs take part. The children, in Years 3-6,  will take part in matches within the school’s club to earn points leading to badges, mascots and other prizes. In the summer term, the top three players will then move up to the Megafinal tournament in Essex, competing against other schools and clubs.

After School Clubs and Activities

If you haven’t returned the form telling us which clubs and activites your child would like to do after school this term, don’t worry, it’s not too late! Swimming Clubs

After school swimming clubs will start this week. Senior swim will be 4pm – 5pm on Tuesdays and Upper Prep swimming will be 4pm – 5pm on Wednesdays.

Anyone in Years 7 – 13 is welcome to attend the session on Tuesday. Pupils will have the opportunity to practise their strokes and have one to one tuition with Mrs McEvoy. Pupils who wish to attend regularly will be able to vote on group sessions throughout the year to include sessions on aqua fit, synchronised swimming, water polo and diving.
