HOHS girls coached by Olympic medalist

summer_325_1Four HOHS girls recently enjoyed a fantastic weekend of badminton coaching. Frankie, Olivia, Isabelle and Chloe were coached by Nathan Robertson, the most successful British Badminton player of modern times.

Nathan has achieved international success in both the men’s and mixed doubles events, including World Championship and Commonwealth Gold medals and a Silver Olympic medal.

Nathan was invited to coach girls from the Norfolk Squads by Norfolk Junior Badminton, who organised the two-day event. The girls were given routines to improve their skills and one-to-one technical advice. They were even shown how to perform and apply some very effective trick shots.

Norfolk is a long distance from the National badminton training centres, so it was great that Nathan was able to visit and help develop the counties promising young players. At the end of the coaching session, Nathan was happy to let the girls wear his medals and sign autographs, which they made the most of. Izzy even got her badminton bag signed!
