Boarders Backwoods Cooking

Last Saturday the boarders attended a “Backwoods Cooking” session at Eaton Vale – an opportunity to get a real taste of the great outdoors cook their own food on a camp fire just as you would in the wild! The weather was changeable so we layered up and got ready to cook. We started with a flour and water dough on a stick:  very tasty with chocolate spread! Then we made layers of bread, jam, butter and sugar which were cooked in the coals and tasted like a cross between a doughnut and pancakes. Delicious and a fun and rewarding activity.

Boarders fun at crazy Congo Rapids

At the weekend our boarders enjoyed a visit to the Norwich Family Golf Centre in Easton to play crazy golf on the Congo Rapids. The course was great fun and included many water features and two boats. There was a lot of friendly cheating and laughter and many golf balls had to be retrieved from the ponds!

Boarders unleash their inner assassins!

At the weekend the boarders went to Quasar in Norwich and unleashed their inner assassins by shooting each other with laser guns whilst trying to take over the other team’s camp. It was a very noisy and adrenalin-filled experience as each team battled it out to win territory and points. Congratulations go to Sofia and Mia who were the highest scorers in each team. After an intense shoot out the Red team triumphed and were awarded their certificates.

Boarders go Christmas shopping

The boarders would like to apologise to anybody who was planning to  shop in Norwich this coming week, as it appears they emptied the shops on Saturday! The final trip of the term is always a busy one and this year was no exception. Pizza Express did a fantastic job in catering for 23 hungry people and everyone left feeling very full. It was our last chance to say goodbye to two of our fabulous gappies as well. Merry Christmas!

Beach-combing and toe-dipping for boarders

Luckily the torrential rain stopped in time for the Boarders’ trip to Southwold today! The sun shone and the girls enjoyed exploring the famous pier and indulging in a spot of shopping before sampling the chips and ice cream. They spent time combing the beach for sea glass and braving the water with their toes…all plans to swim were abandoned with the discovery that the North Sea is cold!

Boarders hit the shops!

This weekend the boarders visited Norwich for some shopping and exploring. Despite the rain they managed to cover a great many shops in a few hours and appear to have come home with most of the goods on sale! The boarding house now smells of bath bombs and there are fairy lights on almost every surface.
