Boarders’ cycling adventures

This weekend the boarders went cycling in Thetford Forest. Luckily the rain stopped but there were plenty of puddles and we all got a bit muddy. Some of us were really fast and some of us (me!) were very rusty… but we all finished the course and had great fun.

Wanted – holiday homes for Winnie and Bubbles!

A plea from our boarders: would any of our families like to step forward to offer a holiday home for their two guinea pigs over the half term break at the end of May or in the summer holidays? Winnie and Bubbles, our ‘piggies’,  are easy to look after, fun and quite cuddlesome! If you can help, please email boarding@hohs.co.uk as soon as possible.

Boarders at historic Hippodrome

Our boarders returned last week refreshed and eager to start a new year after the Summer holidays.

This weekend we all went to Great Yarmouth to visit the circus at the Hippodrome. There were some pre-trip nerves about scary clowns but fortunately they did not appear! We did however get soaked with the traditional buckets of water. The girls particularly enjoyed the talented trampolinist and the “Wheel of Death” acts.

We also enjoyed some unseasonably warm weather over the weekend so the girls spent lots of time outside enjoying the beautiful school grounds. Winnie and Bubbles, our guinea pigs, also enjoyed the weather in their outside hutch and out on the lawn.

Boarders go in search of the Gruffalo

This weekend the boarders explored Thetford Forest in the hunt for The Gruffalo. After downloading the free app, they bravely headed out into the forest to search for clues and gather evidence that The Gruffalo had been by. As you will see from the photos, they found him, and he very kindly posed for some shots! The other Gruffalo characters were out and about, too, and before the rain set in the girls had managed to find them all and gather the evidence they needed that the forest really is home to all sorts of furry and feathered friends.

Boarders left hanging at Eaton Vale!

This weekend the boarders relaxed after a busy Open Morning by heading over to Eaton Vale Activity Centre. While the oldest girls learned archery and honed their skills against the targets, the younger boarders headed for the crate-stacking exercise. Using teamwork and no small amount of balance and courage, they stacked the crates as high as possible before they toppled over and left the girls hanging, and their friends holding on to the other end of the ropes!
