Year 8 reading challenge

On Friday 27th February Year 8 presented their spring half term reading challenges. We had to choose a biography to read, make a poster and write a speech to present to the class. Each of us read a book on a person of our choice, ranging from Anne Boleyn to Taylor Swift, with lots in between.

We all found the presentations really interesting and had plenty of questions to ask as well. Everyone showed the book they’d read and Gabriella also brought in costumes and dressed up Hannah and Ria as the two main characters in hers.

It was great fun making our presentations and we all learnt a lot from it. We are looking forward to starting the next reading challenge.

Spend a week with Year 2

Life in Year 2 is all work and all play. On World Book Day we built a fantastic reading den in the middle of our classroom and spent the day reading, writing book reviews and making colourful bunting and posters for our tent. We loved our den so much that we decided to build a smaller version in the corner of our classroom so that we could keep on using it every day.

During the recent Open Morning we all had a great time making crowns – the perfect tie-in with the traditional tales we have been learning about.

Finally, after taking a walk out to the sports field to support some of our class members in their football match, the rest of us made the most of the beautiful grounds in the sunshine, including having story time outside!
