PA UPDATE: Tombola prizes and manpower needed!

PA-pink-box

This week we had our PA meeting to discuss the ongoing plans for the summer fete. It’s our biggest fund-raiser of the year and a chance for us to raise plenty of money to make some great purchases for the children to enjoy.

I’m pleased to report that all is going well, with many people having brought books and Bric-à-brac into the school office, and a promise of more to come. Unfortunately we haven’t any Tombola prizes yet! If any of you could bring in a prize: a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates, bubble bath, a book etc, that would be much appreciated!

We are also still looking for volunteers on the day to help man several of our stalls. If any of you can give a little of your time on the day please let me know.

2013-fete15This week is my last shout out for anyone wanting to advertise in our fete brochure. 3000 brochures will be distributed around Hethersett and Wymondham so this will be a great way for local businesses to reach out to new potential clients.

Deadline for artwork is 20th March, so not long left. As usual contact me at charissa@taygar.co.uk

The events we run are so important as they enable us to buy equipment and pay for items the children would not otherwise have. But to do this we really need YOUR support. Watch this space for details of our next round of exciting PA purchases for the school!

Many thanks again to you all for your continued support.

PA UPDATE: Fete news and brochure update

PA-pink-boxI hope like me you all had a wonderful half term.

I’d like to say a big thank you to those of you who have already brought items into school this week for our fete stalls; we are still looking for the following contributions:

•  Secondhand books, toys and bric-à-brac
• Tombola prizes
• Raffle prizes
• Sweet/toy filled jam jars

Can you help us out with any of these?

There are only 3 weeks to go until the end of term, so everything has to be organised this side of Easter. Once we return after the Easter break there will be less than 2 weeks till Summer Fete Day!

We are also still looking for volunteers to run the following stalls on the day:

• Plant Stall
• Tombola
• Bouncing Castle
• Craft Tent

Please contact me if you are willing to give up a little of your time; it’s really good fun!

This year we are producing an A5 Fete Brochure that will be given out at school and distributed throughout Hethersett and Wymondham. Over the last couple of weeks I have been busy selling advertising space to local businesses and it’s proving very popular! Many businesses are choosing to put an offer in their advert; this will not only attract new customers but provide an ideal opportunity to monitor how successful the marketing has been.

I know many of the parents at school run their own businesses –  would you like to take part in this great marketing opportunity?

Business card size ads: £20
Half page ads: £35
Full Page ads: £50

If you would like to advertise please send your advert (high-resolution, PDF format in your required size) to charissa@taygar.co.uk by March 20th.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from some of you in the week ahead!

Have a great weekend.

PA UPDATE: School fete

PA-pink-boxIt’s that time of year which finds me rallying support to help make this year’s fete our best ever – and we simply can’t do it without your help!

If like me, your thoughts are turned to keeping your children busy over the half term week ahead, perhaps I could ask you to encourage them to have a big clear out of their rooms to help boost our stalls.

Here’s what we are looking for:

Second Hand Books and Toys
Good condition books, toys and games (complete) for all age groups would be very gratefully received. This stall was very popular last year so we need to ask your help in restocking for this year.

2014-Fete17Tombola Stall
Prizes are needed! These can range from bottle of  wine, chocolate, toiletries, toys and in fact any  item you yourself would be pleased to win.

Raffle
One  of our biggest money-raisers, the raffle also presents the biggest challenge for finding prizes! Every year we approach local businesses, call on favours and generally ask as many people as possible… and are blown away by people’s generosity. Many of you will run, work for or know of a business that is kind enough to donate and some of you are just super generous and buy things yourself… either way can I ask you to have a think  about finding a prize for us to raffle? If so, please email me at charissa@taygar.co.uk or drop a prize into the school office for my attention.

Trash and Treasure Stall
This year we are having a second hand goods stall. So if,  like me, you have loads of “stuff” you have been meaning to take to the charity shop/carboot but haven’t got round to, now is your chance. We are looking for any unwanted items that are in good condition (but not clothes).

Plant Stall
Fowers, foliage, fruit or vegetables…plants are always popular! We don’t need you to bring plants in until closer to the fete (we will let you know when) –  but if, like me, you are planting tomatoes, vegetables or flowers in spring, could you perhaps do a few extra, or take cuttings from your garden to grow on,  ready for the fete? Maybe you have contacts with a nursery/garden centre, or have a friend or family member who is a keen gardener? We would love your help to make our plant stall great.

Children’s Jam Jar Tombola
This seems to be the children’s favourite! Please could you keep and fill empty jam jars with penny sweets, chocolates and small pocket-money toys such as hair clips, stretchy men etc? Demand is always greater than supply for this stall, so if you could bring a couple in to the school office they would be so gratefully received.

Please bring any items into the school office in bags clearly labelled as to which stall they are for.

2013-fete39
Could You Help on The a Day?
Last but by no means least, would you be willing to run a stall or help with craft activities at the fete itself? If you can offer  some of your time please let me know – either catch me at school or send me a quick email.

Hope you all have a wonderful half term break. Only eleven weeks to go on our return to school until our Summer Fete! Meanwhile, if you have any other ideas of how you could help raise money on the day or give your support I would love to hear from you at charissa@taygar.co.uk

Thank you all for your help and continued support

PA UPDATE: Advertising space available in school fete brochure

PA-pink-box

This year we have decided to produce a school fete brochure to help explain exactly which stalls, rides and businesses you can expect to find at the fete, as well as all the delicious food that will be available to enjoy!

The brochure, which will be sent home with every child, as well as delivered around the local area, will provide an ideal opportunity to showcase many of the fantastic items/equipment that the PA has already been able to purchase with your help and support during recent years.

It will also feature advertising space, ideal for local companies looking to promote their business and attract new customers, possibly with  ‘money off’ ‘vouchers or special offers.

If any parents or local businesses would like to advertise in the 2015 fete brochure please send me your proposed advert in PDF format to charissa@taygar.co.uk

Adverts will be available in full page, half page and business card size, and priced accordingly. Space is already filling up quickly so please drop me an email to save your page!

Introducing the PA…

Another two members of the PA to introduce this week: Emma Barlow-Hunter and Debbie Harris, both new members to the committee who have already thrown themselves in with much enthusiasm – thank you to you both.
