All Go for our GoGo Hare!

In the last week of term, senior girls were enthusiastically interpreting Laura S’s winning design for our GoGo Hare, painting our very own leaping leveret ready to take its place amongst the many which will be on display around the city over the summer. It’s looking good already – watch this space for the finished version at the beginning of term!

You can also find out more about the GoGo Hares project here.

Celtic Winner for our GoGo Hare

A wonderful array of designs was submitted for our GoGO leveret, which has been sitting patiently in the main entrance hall waiting to be painted! Voting times were extended to take into account the snow days last week, and we can now announce that the overall winning design was submitted by Laura S in Year 11. Depicting Norse symbols, with a dramatic tree of life and sun, moon and stars, it will be both challenging and fun to paint onto the hare – and to stunning effect, we are sure! Our leveret will join many others from schools across the area in the trail around the city this summer.

Painting has started, so watch the blog for pictures of its progress.

The runners up were:
Years 10-13 Darci S-M
Years 7-9 Liberty-Moon H
Years 4-6 Eve S
Nursery-Year 3 Harry T (Reception)

Can you design the winning leaping hare?

Don’t forget to get creative over half term with your design for our leaping leveret, part of the GoGO Hares project! Miss Coughlan has distributed templates to every pupil in Nursery and Prep and Years 7-10 and we’d like as many entries as possible…be as colourful and imaginative as you like! The closing date is Monday 19th February – the day we get back after half term – and the designs will be on display in the main entrance hall for everyone to vote for their favourite!  The winning design will be painted onto our three-foot high hare (you can sign up to help!) ready to join over 100 from other schools as part of the trail around Norwich this summer. Visit our Go Go Dragon in Pottergate!

Dragon-finishedOur beautiful GoGO Dragon, Grace, has now been installed in The Good Earth Clothing Company shop in Pottergate in the Norwich Lanes. This family-run business specialises in ladies’ and men’s clothing made from natural fabrics including cotton, linen, silk and hemp.

Owner Richard Harvey lives in Hethersett and specially requested our dragon as his daughter, now an accountant living in the Cotswolds, is a former pupil of the school.

A warm welcome awaits any HOHS family who visit the shop to see our dragon and have a browse!

Can you design the winning dragon?

Gorilla15Remember Go Go Gorilla? Well this year we will be participating in Go Go Dragon!

We will need to design and paint our own 3 foot tall dragon and then give it a name. When it is finished it will form part of a trail alongside all of the other school entries around Norwich this summer. You will be able to choose your favourite design and help to paint the dragon.

STEP 1: Design a dragon
All year groups are invited to submit designs using the template provided. Please hand your design into your form tutor. Deadline for entries is on the first day back after half term, Mon 23rd February 2015

4_GoGoDragons_Logo_SchoolSTEP 2: Selecting the winning design
The designs you have submitted will be displayed after half term. You will be asked to vote for your favourite and the winning design will then be made based on your choices.

STEP 3: Painting the dragon
This will be done at lunchtimes and during some after school sessions. We will need a team of people to help. You will be able to sign up closer to the time.
