Everyone’s gone dotty at HOHS!

Our senior girls have been buying spotty stickers today and decorating themselves in aid of Children in Need…look out for more pictures later of what is going on in school today, too! The total raised will be announced next week.

The worthy winner of ‘Name that Bear’

129666966613239375Following on from our recent Children in Need activities, the prizes for the ‘Name that Bear’ competition finally arrived.

The lucky winner was Tabitha in Year 3. She received a tasty chocolate bear and two bear themed books – one full of bear facts and the other recipes by Paddington Bear, for her to try at home.

You may have noticed that this is the same Tabitha who helped raise money for Children in Need with her ‘Guess the number of sweets in the jar’ competition. What a wonderful stroke of fate that her name was picked out of the hat and we have such a deserving winner.

Congratulations Tabitha!

HOHS overrun by onesies for the day

129666966613239375Last Friday the school was overrun with onesies, giant teddy bears, zebras, tigers, kangaroos, giraffes and even a furry strawberry or two. Students and staff made a real effort to ‘dress down’ for the day and help raise lots of money for Children In Need.

As well as paying for the privilege of not having to get dressed that morning, there was also a Teddy Bear challenge and a ‘Guess the Number of Sweets in the Jar’ game, run by Tabitha and her friends in Year 3.

We’re delighted to report that we donated an impressive £272 to Children In Need, so a massive thank you to everyone for all your support.

A special mention to Tabitha, who managed to raise £40 with her giant jar of sweets – the contents of which were divided up between the four pupils who guessed closest to the magic  number ‘111’. Plenty of teeth-brushing for them this week!

The winner of the teddy bear challenge has been chosen and Miss Mann will come and find the lucky winner when their prize arrives.

PJs, onesies and ‘bring your bear to school’ day

129666966613239375In honour of Children in Need, this Friday is ‘bring your bear to school’ day at HOHS.

So that the bears feel right at home, students are also encouraged to come in wearing their pyjamas or onesies for the day. Please think carefully about what you are going to wear though, as we don’t want anyone wearing too little and getting cold. It is November after all!

A £1 donation will be collected during form time and sent off to Children In Need.

Keep a look out for other fundraising activities being carried out on the day, including the ‘Name the Bear’ challenge – entry just 50p.Children-in-Need-bears
