Welcome back for an exciting half term!

We hope all our families have  had an enjoyable half term break and are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning as we start the last busy half term of 2017  – and the exciting lead up to (dare we mention it?) – Christmas!

Please remember that all pupils should now be in full winter uniform, and that appropriate PE kit will be needed for those children taking part in after school clubs.

Never mind the rain, dear!

The wet and blustery weather failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the many families who turned out  to see Santa and two of his real reindeer at our Christmas market on Saturday.  The reindeer were a top attraction at the fundraising bonanza,  which saw the sports hall transformed into a shopper’s paradise with nearly 60 stalls selling gifts, crafts,  jewellery, local artisan food and many other seasonal  treats,  as well as Santa’s grotto and a decorated Christmas tree kindly donated by Great Melton Estate.

Organised by the  PA,  the event also boasted a pop-up restaurant offering visitors hot food and drinks, French-style crepes  and  a sell-out stall of homemade cakes made and donated by parents.

PA Chair Charissa Garner said, “We were delighted by the turnout, the car park was overflowing and there were fantastic, friendly crowds here all day.”

We have made an amazing sum of £3,340 for our school fund  –  and nearly all of the stallholders have already asked to book for next year. Well done, everyone – and thanks to all who helped make this such a success.

Our Christmas market is this Saturday!

After months of preparation and hard work on the part of our dedicated Parents’ Association, the HOHS Christmas Market is almost here.

Bringing together some wonderful businesses, talented individuals and unique goods it is sure to get everyone in the mood for Christmas preparations.  Hot food and drink will be served, along with hot crepes and an assortment of cakes.  Santa and his reindeer will be with us from 10.30 till 1.30pm – come and visit him in his grotto and feed a carrot to one of his  reindeer!

Please note that, while  some of the stallholders will have card machines,  many will only be able to take cash on the day.

It promises to be a truly spectacular event, with real reindeer accompanying Father Christmas and nearly 60 stalls selling everything you need for the festive season, from presents for all ages to gourmet and artisan food and drink.
