Sports Results: U11 basketball tournament

The U11 mixed basketball team travelled to City Academy for their first of two basketball tournaments.

In our first match we came up against a very strong St Francis of Assisi A team and, despite holding them off for a long period of time went down 10-2. In the second game we played much better basketball and beat St Francis of Assisi B team 4-2.

Our final game proved to be frustrating and the team were disappointed with their performance and the 6-2 loss to West Earlham Junior.

Player of the tournament was awarded to Mia for scoring all our baskets.

Success on the tennis courts!

Norwich School Sport Partnership – Norfolk School Games 2014

On Monday 16th June, our Year 3 and Year 4 Mini Tennis Teams played in a Mini Tennis Red Team tournament at the City Academy. There were 8 teams in the competition and each team consisted of 2 boys and 2 girls in the event.

The format of the tournament consisted of 7 singles matches for each player against their opposite number in each team, with matches being the first to 10 points.

Both our teams played brilliantly, with many fine performances throughout the day, including an excellent victory over the Norwich High School.

Our A Team of Jack, Warwick, Christina and Olivia finished 2nd! Our B Team of James, Edoardo, Anna and Fleur finished 5th.

Our A Team has now qualified to represent the ‘Norwich School Sport Partnership’ at the Norfolk Summer School Games, Mini Tennis Finals in July.
The top 2 teams in the competition only qualify for this prestigious tournament. An outstanding achievement!

Congratulations to all the players! It was a wonderful day and I am very proud of you all! As I promised there will be ice creams for you all at the end of the term!

I would like to say a huge thank you to Miss Godfrey for driving the mini bus, umpiring matches and for all her amazing help throughout the day.

Now lets get practising for the Big Day!
