Welcome back for an exciting half term!

We hope all our families have  had an enjoyable half term break and are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning as we start the last busy half term of 2017  – and the exciting lead up to (dare we mention it?) – Christmas!

Please remember that all pupils should now be in full winter uniform, and that appropriate PE kit will be needed for those children taking part in after school clubs.

welcome back

Our Christmas market is this Saturday!

After months of preparation and hard work on the part of our dedicated Parents’ Association, the HOHS Christmas Market is almost here.

Bringing together some wonderful businesses, talented individuals and unique goods it is sure to get everyone in the mood for Christmas preparations.  Hot food and drink will be served, along with hot crepes and an assortment of cakes.  Santa and his reindeer will be with us from 10.30 till 1.30pm – come and visit him in his grotto and feed a carrot to one of his  reindeer!

Please note that, while  some of the stallholders will have card machines,  many will only be able to take cash on the day.

Welcome back for an exciting half term!

We hope all our families had an enjoyable half term break: it was lovely to see all the smiling  faces today as everyone returned, ready for more hard work and fun as we start the final half term of 2015.

This is always a busy and exciting time of year, with a range of Christmas-related activities to look forward to. With that in mind, we have designed this poster to advertise our amazing PA Christmas Market on 21st November. With less than three weeks to go, do please spread the word! It promises to be a truly spectacular event, with real reindeer accompanying Father Christmas and nearly 60 stalls selling everything you need for the festive season, from presents for all ages to gourmet and artisan food and drink.

PA UPDATE: How about shopping through The Giving Machine?

PA-pink-box

With the great weather now upon us I thought it might be a great time to talk about shopping online via The Giving Machine. This is a great way to raise money for the school at no extra cost to us – what could be better!

GivingMachine desk top logo L With many high street and online retailers, leading supermarkets and department stores now registered with The Giving Machine, every time you shop online with them – be it a weekly food shop or booking your summer holiday – they will give a percentage of your spend to the school.

If you register online at The Giving Machine (it only takes a few moments) and choose HOHS as your chosen organisation, every online purchase you make will then go through the Giving Machine and help us to raise funds. It really is that easy!

Let’s see how much money we can raise this year by shopping through this site. In January I will let you all know what we have been able to achieve by working together.

On a separate note, this is the last call for anyone wanting a pitch at our Christmas Market. Forms are available from Tina in the school office; if you already have a form can you please return it ASAP to confirm your place.

Enjoy the good weather!

PA UPDATE: Suggestions needed and Christmas stalls available to book

PA-pink-boxThis week the PA had their last meeting before we break up for the summer holidays. We were joined by Miss Libby Hopwood who has decided to join our team and I’m sure will be a great asset to the PA.

On the agenda were ideas for future events as well as what to buy with some of our profits from the fete. We have some great ideas but would love to hear from any of you if you have any suggestions of your own! Contact me at charissa@taygar.co.uk

Applications for people/ businesses wanting stalls at our Christmas market have been coming in; Miss Bedder has some application forms in Reception (or DOWNLOAD one here) if anyone wants to book while there are some spaces left. Please return the completed form to her marked for my attention and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I must say I’m starting to get quite excited as we have some wonderful businesses attending our Christmas market – it will be a fantastic place to do your Christmas shopping as well as sampling some delicious foods!

Looking forward to receiving your thoughts.
