Year 8 in Cromer

On a grey day yesterday our Year 8 girls went on a geography field trip to Overstrand and Cromer,  to study the sea defences and the impacts of tourism.

Everyone worked really hard – and the fish and chips were, according to the girls, one of the highlights!

Well done everyone.

Years 5 and 6 Kingswood trip: they’re back!

Picture 1
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils are back after an exciting (and tiring!) couple of days at Overstrand Hall, the Kingwood outdoor education and adventure centre in Cromer.

There will be more pictures on the blog over the coming days, but meanwhile, here are two short video clips from their first day.  Miss Hopwood says, “The children had a great time playing games, participating in ‘Nightline’ with blindfolds and, later, dancing around a camp fire with hot chocolate and marshmallows!”

Picture 1Our Year 5 and 6 pupils headed off at lunchtime for a couple of days at Overstrand Hall, the Kingwood outdoor education and adventure centre in Cromer. We have heard from Mr Peace that they have arrived safely and are all very happily settling in – watch this space for photos! They could not have picked a more glorious day for the start of their adventures and we’re sure they will enjoy all the wonderful facilities and activities on offer.

Beach-combing and toe-dipping for boarders

Luckily the torrential rain stopped in time for the Boarders’ trip to Southwold today! The sun shone and the girls enjoyed exploring the famous pier and indulging in a spot of shopping before sampling the chips and ice cream. They spent time combing the beach for sea glass and braving the water with their toes…all plans to swim were abandoned with the discovery that the North Sea is cold!
