Grace to perform at London College of Music Prize Giving

Thank you to Grace’s mother for sending us this lovely picture, with news that Grace has achieved a Distinction in her Grade One Musical Theatre exam.

Grace, who has just finished Year 4 at HOHS, achieved such a high mark (95%) that she has been asked to perform at the London College of Music prize giving ceremony.  For the exam, she sang and performed Do Re Mi from The Sound of Music and a song from The Little Mermaid.

Well done, Grace!

Eve Scoops Dance Trophy

Eve (Year 5) has been dancing with the Stella School of Dance (formerly YSD) since she was three years old, progressing through the graded exams in the various disciplines with excellent results.

Last Sunday, at an awards ceremony held at the Sir Walter Roy Theatre in Norwich, she was presented with the trophy for “Highest Achievement Award for overall exam results” for her age group. She also collected certificates for ballet, tap, modern and acrobatic exams taken over the past two years – most of which were honours or distinctions.  She has worked really hard for her exams, even delaying her birthday party to concentrate on practising – and her determination has paid off. Well done, Eve!

Chloe’s OPEN dance…

Earlier this month, Chloe (Nursery, fourth left below) performed with her ballet class at OPEN in Norwich.   It was Chloe’s first time performing out of a class or school environment and not only did she do very well on stage, she spent a couple of hours with a chaperone and children she didn’t know. Afterwards she told her mum she had been brave and really enjoyed it.  Well done, Chloe, how your confidence has grown!

Skyla-Grace in Britain’s Got Talent audition

Yesterday was an exciting day for Skyla-Grace (Year 6) – she had an audition with her Stagecoach contemporary dance group for the television show Britain’s Got Talent.  They will hear in February if they have been successful in getting through to the next heat – fingers crossed! Thanks to Stagecoach Theatre Arts Norwich for permission to share this lovely photo – Skyla is in the front row, far left.

Nursery Dancers

My roving camera caught these little sweethearts outside the Nursery classrooms on Friday, just getting ready for their ballet class with Miss Doughty.  Don’t they have amazing poise and balance for ones so young!
