A message from Mr Crump

Chicago welcomes Mr and Mrs Crump!photo
A very big ‘congratulations’ to everybody on an excellent set of results – all your hard work has paid off!

I was watching the Chicago Cubs play baseball whilst you were waking to hear your results – you did a lot better than they did!

Definitely a home run for HOHS!

12 years of friendship and straight A / A* results

Having started out in the Pre-Prep department when they were just 4 years-old, Libby, Emily, Megan and Lily were today the perfect example of how a full ‘stretch’ at Hethersett Old Hall School can really benefit your education.

12 years on and the four friends certainly had plenty to celebrate this morning when they received some fantastic GCSE results – the culmination of many years of hard work and perseverance from both students and teachers alike!GCSE Exam results15A special mention and a huge congratulations to Megan, who achieved A grades in all of her 12 subjects, including 8 A*s. Celebrating another great year for GCSE results

Hethersett Old Hall School is again celebrating the exam success of its pupils. With over a third of GCSEs meriting an A* –  A and over two-thirds achieving A* – B, this year group have worked hard, exceeded their target grades and truly fulfilled their potential.GCSE Exam results24The percentage of students achieving 5 or more GCSEs including English and Maths increased to 83% this year and only one student narrowly missed achieving 5 or more A* – C in all subjects, giving a percentage of 94%.

Mr Crump sends his congratulations all the way from Chicago and I would also like to congratulate Year 11 on their achievements.

With GCSEs like these I look forward to seeing their A Level results in two years’ time – no pressure girls!

Another great year for GCSE results

Hethersett Old Hall GCSE candidates have celebrated another year of success in the examinations.

Against a national picture of declining top scores, we were delighted to find 100% of our girls achieved at least 5 passes at A* to C (an 8% improvement on last year’s very creditable 92%) and the percentage of passes at A* to C was up on last year, increasing from 86% in 2012 to 91% this year.

Year 10 also received their grades for the additional science examination, taken at the end of Year 10, on Thursday – an impressive set of results for our younger candidates included over half of passes (53%) at A* or A and an overall pass rate A*-C of nearly 95%.

Mr Crump said: ‘Once again it’s down to the hard work of the pupils and staff. There is a lot of change  – and concern about change –  in the examination system at the moment –  but we try hard as a school to enable all our examination candidates to make the very best of their ability and we are carefully watching how things unfold nationally.’
