Our ‘stars’ this week are…

Star-of-weekOur most recent ‘Stars’, receiving special mention by Mr Peace in this morning’s Prep Department Praise Assembly, are:

Lucia D (Year 3), for working very hard in all subjects. Lucia’s handwriting has improved and she is consistently using joined-up writing.

Albert C (Year 4), for working hard and doing lots of practice in Maths, and for being kind at playtimes and looking out for his friends.

Matilda K (Year 5), for working hard to present her work beautifully and for trying hard in art, paying great attention to detail.

Isabella W (Year 6) for working hard to a high standard in Maths – and for getting thoroughly involved in the Upper Prep drama production, learning all her lines and the song lyrics.

Special praises also went to Daphne G (Nursery Yellow) for being a delightful member of  our ballet class – always listening to instructions and joining in; and to Reno M (Year 1) for learning lines for an assembly to perform to the seniors.

Well done to all of these ‘stars’! Who will it be next week? The picture is from an earlier assembly.

Fairies and Elves in Reception!

There are hundreds of opportunities for creative and imaginative play at HOHS. This week we spotted some of our Reception children enjoying a recently-acquired fairy and elf house, complete with miniature furniture and little characters. Perfect for all kinds of role-play adventures! The children were also keen to show off the beans they have started to grow. They have planted them in jam jars so that they can keep an eye on how well they grow. We will have another look, too, later in the term…

The Early Years visit Wroxham Barns

Last Thursday the Nursery and Reception children had a fantastic day out at Wroxham Barns.

We all had a wonderful day even though the day was quite chilly! The children learnt all about  the different animals on the farm and the different types of food they eat. They all enjoyed bottle feeding the spring lambs in the barn and seeing the hens, pigs, cows, donkeys, sheep, goats and chickens around the farm.  We also got to  sit on bales of straw in the barn and cuddle the chicks and guinea pigs.

Well done, everyone, for being so well behaved. Happy Easter from us all!
