Tri-Golf on Monday for Years 3 and 4

Next Monday afternoon, pupils from Years 3 and 4 will be taking part in an inter-schools Tri-Golf event at the Norwich Family Golf Centre in Easton.

The aim of the event is to give the children the opportunity to take part in an offsite sports event alongside pupils from other schools.  They will be able to have a go at a selection of fun tri-golf activities which challenge them to learn a range of basic golfing skills.

You can find out more about the competition here.

Ultimate Frisbee Club in full ‘flight’

No referees…played with a flying disc…popular with millions of players from all over the world…I was intrigued when I caught up with members of our Ultimate Frisbee Club  on Wednesday at lunchtime in the Sports Hall. The girls told me they enjoy this sport because it is fun, fast-moving and challenging and involves a wide variety of moves and throws.  New members are always welcome – because it is a non-contact sport, different age groups can play together,  so the club, run by Miss Mann,  is open to anyone in Years 7-13. Miss Mann is hoping to find some competitive fixtures for the girls soon – contact us if you know any other schools who have a team, or watch this space! You can find out more about Ultimate, as it now more commonly known, on the official uk website .  Liz French

9 – 0 victory for our U12 netball team

On Thursday 24th January the U12 netball team, which consisted of girls from Year 7 and Year 6, played a fixture at home against Sprowston High School.

The girls took part in an enthusiastic warm up lead by our in-house netball coach, Gemma Ashton. The girls focused on tactics involving their shooting, centre and back line passes, which are crucial for a successful match.

The girls played superbly, acting on the advice given by Gemma and Mrs McGlinchey. They worked together as a team to lead 3 – 0 after the first quarter, with some strong defending by Ella Kassulke and Bronwen Laxton. After the second quarter we were still in the lead and the girls were going from strength to strength. We were delighted to win the match 9 – 0 thanks to some very accurate and brave shooting by Jessie Lloyd and Mia Ellis Wood who were later voted players of the match.

We are now looking forward to our next match and hoping for more success!
