Blood Brothers rollercoaster for drama and music girls

A group of our Year 10 and 11 GCSE drama and music pupils ventured out to the Theatre Royal on Thursday afternoon to see the acclaimed touring
production of Willy Russell’s emotional rollercoaster tale of two separated siblings. The well-loved musical has been running in The West End, on Broadway and on tour for over 30 years. Ria said “It was quite funny in the first half, but ended up really sad.”

Update: GCSE and A Level drama

Last week, our GCSE drama and A Level drama students visited Norwich’s Theatre Royal to see the National Theatre’s acclaimed production of ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’.

Written by Richard Bean and with songs by Grand Olding, this smash-hit comedy is currently touring the UK and Ireland and is based on ‘The Servant of Two Masters’ by Carlo Goldoni. It was an excellent evening’s entertainment and very good for the girls’ studies.OMTG_1024x576px_paceThe week before, the GCSE group undertook their assessed performance in the Barn here at HOHS. Devised by the girls themselves, the piece, entitled ‘War Letters’, was on the theme of women and war. Their performance was very well received by the appreciative audience of families attending.
