Harvest festival thanks

A huge thank you to all of you who kindly donated items for our Harvest Festival assemblies this morning…both the Barn and the Prep Hall boasted impressive displays of dried food and other items which were later packed up carefully by Sixth Form and Year 7 pupils. Rob from Norwich Food Bank collected the haul at break time, and took them back to the Norwich distribution centre to be sorted and made available to local people in need. Thanks again!

Donations for our Harvest Festival assembly…

Our annual Harvest Festival Assembly will be taking place on Monday (2nd October) – all pupils should have brought a leaflet home about this today. We will welcome any contributions of  tins or dried produce and the other items listed on the flier below for our displays – please bring them into Reception any time up to Monday morning. Our donations will be collected by a representative of the Norwich Foodbank to help people in crisis.

Thank you so much for your support.

A thank you from Norwich Foodbank

Thanks again to all our families who generously brought in food donations for our Harvest Festival assembly earlier this term.  We have just received a Certificate of Appreciation from Norwich Food Bank – as you can see, it  shows that we donated enough food to feed 80 people for three days…significantly beating our total from last year (50 people). Very well done, everyone!

All aboard the Hethersett Harvest Express!

Many thanks to all families who generously sent food donations for our Harvest Festival assembly this morning. Destined for Norwich Foodbank, the items were collected today by the Foodbank’s Project Manager Hannah Wordley…but not before the sixth formers and Miss Mann had made an impressive train sculpture with them! The ‘Hethersett Harvest Express’, complete with steam engine and two trucks, sat in the courtyard for all to admire until the items were bagged and collected at break time.

Food Bank Harvest Festival Appeal

Our Harvest Festival assembly is on Monday (3rd October) and we would be grateful if pupils would bring in non-perishable food donations for Norwich Food Bank, either tomorrow (Friday) or on Monday morning, please. As part of a competition the Food Bank is organising, our Sixth Form will be making a sculpture from all the items brought in, so please do donate generously to make it as impressive as possible! The most-needed items are: long-life milk, 500gsm granulated sugar, long-life fruit juice, tinned tomatoes and instant mash – but all items are welcome! Watch this space for a photo of the result. Thank you so much for your support.
