We reported a few weeks ago that some of our Year 10s and 11s took part in the UK Mathematics Challenge and the results are in. In this national competition, we are pleased to report that some of our pupils attained silver and bronze awards.

Congratulations to Selena and Jamie on their silver awards and to Cait, Rebekah and Faith-Marie for attaining bronze awards. Well done!

Easter eggs for EACH

Easter is nearly here and I am helping to collect Easter eggs for children at East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice. If you would like to help me, please bring an Easter egg to Reception by Friday March 15th and I will make sure it gets to a child at the hospice. If you prefer, you could donate £1 instead and I will use this money to buy an egg on your behalf. Let’s put a smile on the face of a child less fortunate than us at this special time of year. Thank you.

Rosamaria, Year 11

Charlie and Izzy went to St. James’s Palace last week to collect their Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. After volunteering, learning a new skill and taking part in a physical activity for a year as well as completing the five day expedition and a residential, the award was fully deserved! We would like to thank them for sending us these pictures to share with you. IELTS Success

Last week Kelly in Year 13 received her IELTS result (the International English Language Testing System). This qualification is a university entrance requirement for students with English as an additional language. Kelly achieved a grade of 6.5 which is higher than the 6.0 required by most universities. Kelly aims to study business and marketing at either the University of Leeds or the University of Surrey. We would like to congratulate Kelly on her excellent IELTS result.

The Dinosaur Hunt!

It has been an exciting half term for our Nursery pupils. They have learned lots of facts about dinosaurs, painted dinosaur pictures and presented an assembly. Best of all, they went on a dinosaur hunt, following a trail of dinosaur footprints which led them to a dinosaur egg! To see the video of their egg-hunting adventures, please visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HethersettOldHallSchool/ (which is available to everyone even if you haven’t got your own Facebook account).
