Clara and Ruby’s Hearts for Manchester

Over half term, Clara (Year 9), together with Mum  Mary and sister  Ruby , who is joining us this September in Year 7,  got involved in the campaign to fill Manchester with handmade hearts  as a symbol against terrorism after the attack. Thousands of hearts were sent from all over the world and were distributed in the city on Monday of this week.  Clara made hearts from felt and designed wooden hearts, while  Ruby knitted hers.  The response was incredible as you can see from the campaign’s  Facebook page  #AHEART4MCR

Children and the news

We know that some children can get very worried about events they hear about in the news, and this week many have felt upset and anxious about what’s happened in Manchester.   Mr Peace led a very appropriate assembly this morning reassuring children that adults are here to listen to them if they ever have any worries about anything, not just the news.
