Recording mini-beasts and building the Mary Rose

During their science lessons Year 4 have been using our wonderful grounds to identify and record mini-beasts. We are now going to use this data to create our own branching databases to classify each insect.Year 4 scienceAs part of their Tudor topic in History lessons they have also been busy making 3D pictures of Henry VIII’s flagship, the Mary Rose.

They started by sketching the ship, then used cardboard and paper mache to build up the hull. Next they used kebab and cocktail sticks for the masts, small yoghurt pots for the crow’s nest and wool for the rigging, before finally painting their vessels.

Watch out for their creations in the Upper Prep’s upcoming production of ‘Pirates and the Curry Bean’!
