We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

Year 1 really enjoyed their visit to the theatre last term to see Michael Rosen’s famous We’re Going on a Bear Hunt come to life. Now the children have been doing some excellent work with Mrs Bird to follow up on what they saw and heard.

They have been retelling the story in a drama session, remembering and checking the sequence of events and illustrating the action. Their work is now on display outside the Year 1 classroom – parents, do come and have a look!

Little Angels in Year 1!

It’s December…so we are officially allowed to get excited about Christmas! The log fire in the main entrance, the Christmas trees…it is already looking quite festive at HOHS. Look out for letters home about all the arrangements for the various events taking place, some of which involve all the family. Meanwhile, we hope you like this photo of our Year 1 pupils proudly displaying the Christmas angels they have made!

Year 1 & 2 have also been to the Playhouse in Norwich today to see We’re Going on a Bear Hunt  – photos coming soon!

Our ‘free verse poets’ in Year 5

Since half term, the Year 5 class have learnt about the free verse poems by Michael Rosen and Roger McGough. We created our own ‘working wall’ to feature the different poems each member of the class looked at.

Some of the children are now writing free verse poems for their entry into the Royal Norfolk Show poetry competition!
