Netball News: U9 and U11A/B vs The Old School Henstead

On Friday afternoon we welcomed the Old School Henstead for an afternoon of netball.

The U11As got the afternoon off to a flying start, winning their half 5-1. GS Leoni was on good form and some excellent passing from the team showed significant improvements from last week’s performance. Player of the Half was Saffron, for her well-timed interceptions at WD.

Our U11Bs continued the second half of the game and picked up from where the As left off. The team showed excellent patience and accuracy with their passing and finished the game as a 9-2 win for Hethersett! Player of the half was Maxim, for a much improved performance as C.

It was the first game of the season for our U9s and Miss Mickleburgh, Miss Hopwood and Mrs Sinclair were incredibly impressed with the team for creating a number of attempts at goal in the first quarter. The Henstead team were, however, strong and despite some good defensive efforts, the team succumbed to a 2-0 defeat. Player of the Match goes to Albert,  for his passing and work rate as C.

A special mention goes to Eva and Caitlin for some excellent shooting and significantly improving their technique and movement in the circle from last week.

Well done, everyone!

Miss Mickleburgh

On a wet Wednesday afternoon, the U13A/B netball teams travelled to Norwich School. Despite both teams starting slowly, the girls were a credit to the school in their attitudes and efforts.

The A team suffered a 23-11 loss against a strong Norwich School A side, but demonstrated many positives throughout the game. Player of the Match, Mia, was on form with her shooting from distance.

The B team drew 10-10 in a closely fought contest. Liberty-Moon was awarded Player of the Match for the improvements demonstrated in her shooting.
