Years 1 and 2 Mat Ball House Matches

Pupils in Years 1 and 2  have been developing their throwing, catching, passing, moving and team skills in the exciting and fun game of Mat Ball – and their house matches at the end of the half term gave them a chance to put into practice what they had learned.

Fry was victorious, with Austin second and Ryder third.

Years 1 & 2 Gymnastics at UEA Sportspark

Pupils in Years 1 and 2 travelled to the UEA Sports Park Gymnastics centre yesterday for an inter-school gymnastics festival. In the first part of the session the children worked on their vaulting and sequencing. The second part was dedicated to fun in the foam pits, bouncing on the trampolines, strength on the rings and balances on the beams.

All the children had a fantastic time and were exceptionally well behaved. We now wait to hear if anyone has been selected to represent the Norwich School Sports Partnership team in March (fingers crossed).

You can see details of Friday’s event here.

Anna selected for Norfolk athletics team

Congratulations to Anna (Year 11) who has been selected for the Norfolk team to compete in the 800m at the English Schools track & field championships, taking place at Gateshead International Stadium on 10th & 11th July.

The ESAA National Championships are the 4th largest annual athletics event in the World. Organised entirely by volunteer teachers, they bring together the best athletes in each County in England to compete for the honour of being the best athlete in the Country at their event. Entry to the event is by virtue of athletes being selected by County Team Managers to represent their County.

Nearly all the UK Olympic Athletics team members have featured in the ESAA Championships.

Anna has trained long and hard to achieve her goal and she should be commended on this fantastic achievement.

We wish her the very best of luck in the competition.
