Rambling for Pudsey at HOHS

We promised some more pictures of last Friday’s sponsored ramble through our Autumnal woods and gardens. All the Prep children took part and enjoyed being together outside…we love that our school nurtures co-operatoin between different year groups, the older children always keen to encourage the younger ones.

Fundraising for Pudsey at HOHS

We had a great time today with our Children in Need activities including collecting pennies for Pudsey, taking a leisurely ramble through our beautiful grounds in the bright Autumn sunshine, a “Runsie” (fun run wearing a onesie) and scavenger hunts! Looks like we have raised over £300 in total: we’ll be able to confirm this on Monday, and let you know which house won the donations competition, too.  More pictures of today’s ramble will be on the blog next week… WELL DONE, everyone!

Scavenging for Children in Need this week!

With Children in Need this Friday, activities are underway at HOHS! Mia and Maisy (Year 12) have been running scavenger hunts since yesterday, with pupils encouraged to find the 15 spotty images they have placed around the grounds and gardens. Here are some of the Prep children having fun locating them all!

See the Seals at Winterton and Horsey

A walk on the beach can be a refreshing antidote to all that eating we’ve probably done over the last few days. Norfolk of course has a wonderful choice of beaches, each with its own unique character and features. My personal favourite is Winterton  – I love the miles of empty sand and paths through the dunes, there’s a great café and it is dog-friendly all year.  I will be going for a walk this week with friends and family along the beach towards Horsey until we come to the seals…literally hundreds of them, mothers and babies, littering the water’s edge until around the end of January. If you’ve never experienced this amazing sight, it is well worth a visit. You can follow the crowds to Horsey itself  for sightings from the dunes if  the walk from Winterton is too long for any family members.  Do take care not to disturb the seals.

You can find out more and see videos here.

Father Christmas, Reindeer and crafting at HOHS

This morning saw lots of smiles and fun as families came together in the Barn to do some Christmas-themed crafting together and chat to Father Christmas. Meanwhile, outside, two of his reindeer were ready to show us how much they like carrots! Thanks to our hardworking PA members for organising this – and for serving delicious mince pies, soup and other goodies, too!
