Have you made a Christmas Shoebox?

Op Xmas Child logoParents of pupils from Nursery to Year 6 – just a reminder that if your child would like to take part in this year’s Christmas Shoebox appeal,  they will need to find and wrap a medium-sized shoebox and lid (separately) have fun filling it with new gifts to return to the Prep library by Friday 10th November.

You will find suggested items and detailed instructions in the leaflet your child brought home or on the Operation Christmas Child website.  A £5 suggested donation should accompany the shoebox.

Our collection of shoeboxes will be displayed and eventually collected by a local representive for the appeal – the picture below is from our collection last year.

Thank you once again for your support! These gift boxes really do have a huge impact on the children who receive them.

Christmas Shoeboxes are on their way!

shoebox-appeal-logo

Earlier this week, 63 beautifully-filled and wrapped shoeboxes brought in by staff and pupils from Nursery to Year 13 for Operation Christmas Child were gathered together and taken to an official collection point in Wymondham. Here they were very warmly received and have joined many other donated boxes to be co-ordinated for their onward journey.

Soon the boxes will be delivered to needy children who will get a real boost of  happiness from these special presents.
For some, it may be the first gift they have ever received. Thanks so much to all our generous families!

It’s time to make a Christmas shoebox

Once again, we are taking part in Operation Christmas Child, also known as the Christmas Shoebox Appeal. This is a lovely opportunity to provide toys and treats for a child in need whose Christmas would otherwise be without many smiles. If your son or daughter would like to help, you will need to decide the age and gender would like to create a box for, find and wrap (in Christmas paper) a medium-sized shoebox and lid (wrapped separately) and fill it with new gifts of stationery, toys, toiletries and other small items.

Please return your shoebox to school by next Monday, 16th November with a £3 donation in an envelope for each shoebox.

Follow this video link to see the huge impact your shoebox can have on the child receiving it! Detailed information about the kind of things to pack in your shoebox can be found here.
