Fireworks party goes with a bang!

Thanks to all the families and friends who came to our bonfire and fireworks party on Friday evening – we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Special thanks to our hard-working PA members – and not forgetting Mr Reeves for providing soup and food for the barbecue. Mrs Elsley and Mrs Barrow’s toffee apples and chocolate marshmallows proved a huge hit too!

Bonfire and fireworks tonight!

Preparations are underway for tonight’s HOHS fireworks and bonfire party and we are looking forward to seeing many of our pupils, families and friends for what is always a very enjoyable event. The impressive bonfire will be lit at about 5pm and Mr Crump will be setting off the fireworks a little before 6pm.

As you can see,  Mrs Elsley and Mrs Barrow have been busy making yummy toffee apples and chocolate marshmallows – thank you, ladies! – and don’t forget you’ll also be able to buy a barbecue tea. All proceeds go to the Parents’ Association fund to provide ‘extras’ all the children can enjoy. See you later!

Remember, remember, the bonfire party on Friday!

A reminder that, weather permitting, our Parents’ Association Bonfire & Fireworks Party will be held this Friday, 3rd November, in the school grounds. This is a popular annual event for our school families and friends and we hope many of you will be able to join us for the fun!

As all children must be accompanied to the event by an adult, any pupils who would like to take part but who usually attend after-school club should be collected by their parents and taken to the event.  After-school club will also take place as normal.  The event is free to attend and a barbecue tea, toffee apples and other tasty delights will be available to buy whilst watching the bonfire – lit at 5.00pm – and the fireworks display.

Please ensure that anyone who wants to hold sparklers wears gloves and understands the importance of safety around fire and fireworks.

We look forward to seeing you there.

The pictures are from last year’s party.

Don’t forget to spread the word – the HOHS Winter Wonderland Fair is coming soon!

It’s just three weeks till our bumper Winter Wonderland Fair on Saturday November 18th – please tell all your family and friends and keep the date free!

There will be stalls galore (over 45 of them) selling everything from crafts to Christmas decorations, artisan foods and handmade clothes.  You can also enjoy food and refreshments from our wonderful chef and games and activities for the children.

Parents, could you consider donating a prize for the raffle to be held on the day? It’s always one of our biggest fundraisers and the proceeds all go towards buying items to benefit all our children. You can bring prizes into the school office anytime from now. Thank you so much!
