Reindeer at HOHS this Saturday!

We are all looking forward to our special event on Saturday! As the run-up to Christmas starts,  Santa and his REAL reindeer, plus a couple of hardworking elves, will be at HOHS to meet the children and distribute some early Christmas presents. There will also be tasty hot food and drinks on sale, plus craft activities for the children to enjoy: making angels, decorating seasonal cookies, making paper chains and more.

We hope to see many of you there – and do bring friends and extended family, too. Please let us know who’s coming, though, so that Santa brings the right presents – just email reception@hohs.co.uk with your numbers and the ages of the children, or call in to the school reception. Please note that you must accompany your children throughout the event.

Bonfire party goes with a bang!

As the sun set over the field yesterday,  members of our PA were busy getting everything ready for our bonfire and fireworks party.  It was great fun for all the families and friends who attended and a lovely, social occasion, with Mr Crump’s fireworks display providing just the right  ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’  factor!

Many thanks to Mr Reeves and the kitchen team for dishing up such tasty soup and hotdogs, and to the PA team for organising and selling the food, drinks and ever-popular glo-sticks.  Funds raised will go into the PA kitty to provide items the children may not otherwise have to enhance their school experience.

Welcome back for an exciting half term!

We hope all our families have  had an enjoyable half term break and are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning as we start the last busy half term of 2016  – and the exciting lead up to (dare we mention it?) – Christmas!

Please remember that all pupils should now be in full winter uniform, and that appropriate PE kit will be needed for those children taking part in after school clubs. Tomorrow it’s adventure/orienteering for Lower Prep and football for Upper Prep pupils.  Please see the separate post published on the blog on Friday afternoon (28th October) for the full list of after school activities this term.

welcome back

Don’t forget our Bonfire Night next Friday!

The PA will be holding a Bonfire & Fireworks Party on Friday 4th November in the school grounds, weather permitting. This is a popular annual event for our school families and we hope many of you will be able to join us for the fun! There is no entry fee but you can buy a lovely barbecue tea and other tasty delights to enjoy whilst watching the bonfire – lit at 5.00pm – and the fireworks display at 6.00pm. Please ensure that anyone who wants to hold sparklers has gloves and understands the importance of safety around fire and fireworks.
