Giving Monet a run for his money

Year 1 pupils are studying the life and work of French impressionist Claude Monet.  Inspired by Nymphéas, the famous waterlilies picture painted in the artist’s stunning water garden in Giverny, the children are painting their own impressionistic pictures.  These are works in progress but we think they are already looking like masterpieces!

PA-pink-boxI recently told you about acclaimed artist Lesley Munro, who very kindly painted this fantastic picture of the beech tree.
Screen Shot 2015-07-07 at 1.01.13 pmWe have decided to produce 100 limited edition prints which have been professionally framed, strung and hung in a beautiful solid oak frame (measuring 25.5 inches square). These are available to order for £120.

All proceeds raised from the sale of these prints will be put towards something fantastic for the pupils to enjoy for years to come!

You will receive an end of year letter from me in your school pack giving details of some exciting events to look forward to in the new school year as well as lots of thanks for all your support, as the PA really couldn’t achieve what it does without your support.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer.

The Year 3 classroom is full of beautiful Spring flowers at the moment. Sadly they don’t smell as good as they look as they’re of the two-dimensional variety! year-3-flowers6year-3-flowers4year-3-flowers5year-3-flowers2year-3-flowers
