Our ‘stars’ this week

Star-of-week

There was a Praises Assembly this morning in the Prep Department…and these children received special mention:

Georgina (Nursery), for being caring and a lovely friend, very thoughtful and polite. Georgina is starting to add, take away and spell three-letter words.

Matthias (Reception), for working hard and making amazing progress in reading, writing and maths (time). Matthias has done some excellent work in PE, too!

India (Year 1), for working very hard and being highly motivated with neat work and excellent concentration in everything she does.

Isabella (Year 2), for a very good sporting attitude during last week’s swimming gala. Isabella could not take part owing to illness but she supported her team throughout the gala.

Well done to all of these ‘stars’! The picture was taken in an earlier assembly and shows how well the children listen and like to hear about each other’s successes.

Who will it be next time?

A Golden Touch from Phase 3!

Phase 3 pupils presented an excellent assembly yesterday, based on the Ancient Greek myths they have been studying in their English lessons.  The audience of pupils, teachers and family members were treated to an outstanding performance of the story of King Midas, in which the children acted, danced and sang with confidence and beautifully clear voices.  The tale ended with a song reminding us of moral that we should all follow: ‘It isn’t gold, it isn’t wealth, the most precious thing is life itself’,  before the children spent some happy moments with their proud families.

A big thank you to all the parents, grandparents and family members who came along. They now know what their children are wishing for, thanks to the mini Powerpoint displays  that appeared at the end of the assembly!

Red noses almost sold out…

Parents, please note that we have limited supplies of the red noses left to sell tomorrow and Friday – so if your child doesn’t already have one, or wants another, please ensure they come to buy theirs promptly at break time! We’ll announce how much we have raised after Friday, which is Red Nose Day itself – remember, it is a non uniform day so please wear something red!

U14 badminton team are Norfolk Schools Champions!

Congratulations to the U14 badminton team who have won the Norfolk Schools badminton league for the second year running.

The team came first in their pool, beating Thorpe St Andrew, Notre Dame High School, Attleborough Academy, Hethersett Academy and Norwich High School. In the final this afternoon, we met Fakenham Academy and ran out 6-3 winners with all the girls playing some excellent badminton.

A big thank you to Anna and Rachel who stepped in at the last minute to replace injured Emily. The girls have been a pleasure to work with and should be immensely proud of their achievements, with many playing above their age group.

SQUAD: Isabelle (C), Sophie, Mia, Harriet, Rebekah, Emily, Rachel and Anna.

Miss Mickleburgh
