Blackbirds have flown!

Before the holidays we reported that a blackbird’s nest had been found in the hedge at the back of our main lawns, with four beautiful eggs in it.  We had a little peek and then were careful to leave the nest alone. Today, some of the children in Mrs Bird’s class were excited to find that the eggs have all hatched and, as the fledglings have left, the nest is no longer needed, so they brought it over for a photograph!

Until the next tweet…

First Ballet Club of Term…

Here are our little ballerinas this afternoon enjoying the first Ballet Club session of term!
Ballet Club is free for our Lower Prep girls and boys and runs every Monday afternoon from 3.oopm-3.45pm in the Lower Prep Hall.

Pupils learn basic steps and technique and have fun acting through dance. They also learn all about professional ballet dancers and enjoy lots of dance stories too!

Please wear clothing appropriate for dance – a leotard, tights and a cardigan or leggings/shorts and a t-shirt. Ballet shoes are recommended but not essential.

Welcome back to school!

Welcome back to all our pupils, boarders, parents and staff! We hope you’ve had a lovely Easter break and are now rested and raring to go..

Let the fun, games and learning begin! This is a particularly important term for our Year 11 and Year 13 girls as they approach the GCSE and A Level exams they have been working towards, with the individual support and encouragement of their teachers.

Dutch adventures for Chloe and Charlotte

Thanks to Chloe (Year 3) and Charlotte (Reception) for sharing these lovely pictures from their Easter holiday adventures in  Zaanse Schans in Holland!

The girls (and our very own Barnaby Bear!) did some exciting things while they were there and will have lots to tell us about when they’re back in school next week. Here they are pictured trying on some giant clogs in the clog museum, having a go at making some Heineken beer and taking a close look at how  Gouda cheeses are made.

See you on Monday, girls (and Barnaby)!

Time for another look at our Hethersett Old Hall School video!

It’s just about a year since our HOHS promotional video was launched – and it had over 3,000 views when it appeared on our Facebook page! It still gives us that “aaaah” feeling, and reflects our happy, thriving school very well – so why not give it another look? Click here to link to  the video on youtube and let’s get the number of views there up!

The film was made by Winnie (Wing-Yee,  pictured below), a former HOHS pupil who is now a film maker.
